Femoral Osteotomies for Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head

Femoral osteotomy is performed for osteonecrosis of the femoral head to prevent progression collapse and promote repair process by transposing necrotic lesion nonweight-bearing portion. The purpose this review article was summarize current knowledge on two types osteotomy: transtrochanteric anterior or posterior rotational curved varus osteotomy, both which are currently osteonecrosis, mainly in Japan Korea. Osteotomy can be expected cure no matter how much durability artificial joints improves, there will always young patients whom procedure indicated. We should continue verify results surgery refine techniques involved.
